Nā Hoa Cup Hits A Milestone

Nā Hoa o Puna Soccer Club, founded by Coach Buddy Perry in 2009, focuses on teaching fundamental ball-handling skills. We always strive to create a competitive environment during training and games. In 2010, we hosted our first Nā Hoa Cup, a 5v5 tournament organized, executed and hosted by our No Nā ʻŌpio partner, Nā Hoa o Puna. A short 5 years later, Coach Buddy Perry passed in his home in Puna, Hawaiʻi surrounded by ʻohana and hoa.

This past December 2025, we celebrated not only our 15th Nā Hoa Cup, we also honored Coach Buddy on the 10th anniversary of his passing through hula, mele, friendship, moʻolelo, and aloha at a closing mahalo concert.
